As Teacher Jiang said, in the vast sea of people, meeting each other is a form of destiny. Life is often filled with countless seemingly accidental encounters that inadvertently change our lives. In that sense, Teacher Jiang is an important "accident" in my life, crafting for me a simple, elegant, comfortable, and cozy new home.

The home design process led by Teacher Jiang includes on-site measurements, providing floor plans, construction drawings, renderings, guiding and briefing on drawings, accompanying material selection, and soft furnishings, etc. There are so many aspects to control throughout the design process, with countless details that are hard to fully appreciate without personal experience. As an interior designer who frequently wins awards, Teacher Jiang's skills are beyond question. What is most important is that he personally handles every step with meticulous attention to detail and strict quality control, which is truly invaluable. Below, I'd like to share a few "stories" from my home renovation process, and give a shoutout to Teacher Jiang.

Solid foundation, proficient in various styles

The house commissioned by me, designed by Teacher Jiang, is a new residence in a new community in the northern suburbs of Beijing. The internal structure of the户型 is almost all load-bearing walls, which cannot be altered, greatly limiting the designer's creative space. Moreover, as it's a new community, everyone is renovating at the same time, and nearly six or seven homeowners of the same户型 selected Teacher Jiang concurrently. Concerns arose among the homeowners about whether their designs would be too similar. However, it turned out that such worries (an important point to reiterate thrice!) were unnecessary!

Before embarking on the design process, Teacher Jiang conducts a thorough understanding of each family's living habits, hobbies, anticipated investments, and desired home atmosphere. Based on this, he designs pieces that cater to individual needs. My home is minimalist, the downstairs is a simple American style, and the neighboring home features a new Chinese style with a Jiangnan touch, and so on. Upon completion, entering each household reveals that despite the identical layouts, one feels as if they are in different spaces. These works are elegant and unconventional, not easily categorized by "styles," reflecting Teacher Jiang's philosophy of nature worship in design and carrying a strong Jiang style.

We rigorously control the overall material quality, ensuring harmonious and unified color schemes.

Family members have varying requirements for their new home due to age and life experiences, each with their own non-negotiable points of concern. Imagine what kind of home would result if the designer lacked the ability to maintain overall control and cater to each member's needs. In my household, there's a stubborn individual who, due to a busy schedule, hadn't been involved in the home decor initially. When it came time to choose main materials, they insisted on selecting flooring and solid wood doors that clashed with our home's style, and did so with an air of exclusivity. Despite our persuasion being ineffective, we had to give in and comply with their choice. Based on his control over the overall design and extensive experience, Teacher Jiang immediately adjusted the color of the wallpaper and curtains and suggested using stone for the thresholds. This is when I began to resist. Firstly, I didn't like the texture of the stone, and secondly, I felt it wasn't suitable. Fortunately, after much deliberation, I nervously ordered the threshold stone according to Teacher Jiang's design. He chose light gray wood grain marble, which looks like wood and the current construction techniques for the stone are worry-free. As it turned out, our home's threshold has become the highlight, with colleagues and friends who've visited praising it without exception.

Mr. Jiang's demand for color is stringent, to say the least. Whether it's walls and curtains, or floors and furniture, he meticulously selects color combinations. He considers how colors will look in specific locations within the homeowner's space, the contrast between colors, and the overall appearance after the renovation is complete, rather than the attractiveness of a single color in isolation. He has even gone to the site specifically to ensure the color of the grout matches the tiles, selecting four or five different grout colors for my home. Mr. Jiang's proficiency and control over color are a testament to his foundation as an artist who began painting at a young age, a skill beyond the reach of an ordinary home decorator.

The right fit is all that matters.

Meeting satisfaction within a limited renovation budget is a wish shared by me and, I believe, every homeowner. Teacher Jiang is a designer who fulfills such wishes. He doesn't merely chase so-called high-end products to achieve design effects; instead, he selects the appropriate products based on the budget to achieve the same results. My home, due to insufficient understanding of the price and usage of kitchen wall tiles, ended up with a significantly higher cost than the budget allowed. After discussing with Teacher Jiang, we considered replacing some tiles with slightly cheaper options. Considering the overall kitchen effect, Teacher Jiang suggested a complete reselection of the kitchen tiles. The newly chosen tiles, even within the budget, delivered an effect not inferior to the original. He often says, "You can also choose tiles that offer the same effect within the budget, and these are already achieving the desired outcome."

Without exaggeration, working with Teacher Jiang on renovations truly brings the realization of 'suitable' over 'expensive'.
